Police Use StarChase To Tag Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Suspect with Homicide Warrant

21-940 Police officers observed a stolen vehicle driving erratically. While attempting a traffic stop, the suspect drove off. As the car eluded, Georgia police officers used their StarChase “Shadow”, a vehicle-mounted launcher to deploy a GPS tag onto the back of the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle was tracked to a residential area where police were able to coordinate an apprehension. The stolen vehicle was recovered and the suspect was arrested for outstanding warrants including homicide, aggravated assault with a firearm, and burglary.
