Vehicle Mounted GPS Launcher
Often referred to as the “starchaser”, the vehicle-mounted GPS launcher is used by agencies worldwide as a safer, more effective alternative to pursuits.
Pursuit Intervention Technology
The vehicle-mounted GPS launcher is installed in the grill of a police vehicle and deploys a GPS tag onto the vehicle in front of it. With the launcher installed, an officer can launch a GPS tag onto a fleeing suspect vehicle, track it to a safer location, and then apprehend the suspect without risk to themselves, the suspect, or bystanders.
When a pursuit or drive-off seems imminent, officers can launch a GPS tag from the console inside their vehicle or with a remote key fob. Once the GPS tag is attached, data from the suspect vehicle is communicated to the CoreView mapping platform. This data can also be shared with neighboring jurisdictions, enhancing interagency collaboration and community relations.
