Colorado Police Use StarChase to Tag Carjacked Vehicle, Make Two Arrests

21-929 Police Officers observed a vehicle wanted in connection to a recent carjacking. As they attempted a traffic stop, the suspect fled. As the stolen vehicle accelerated away, police used their StarChase “Shadow”, a vehicle-mounted launcher to deploy a GPS tag onto the back of the fleeing vehicle. The stolen vehicle was tracked for 25 minutes to a location where police were able to coordinate a safe apprehension. Two suspects were arrested for auto theft and carjacking.
