Police Use StarChase to Tag Stolen Vehicle with No Plates, Suspect with Warrants Arrested

21-905 Police officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle traveling erratically and without license plates. While attempting a traffic stop, the suspect drove off. As the car eluded, police officers used their StarChase “Shadow”, a vehicle-mounted launcher to deploy a GPS tag onto the back of the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle was tracked to a residential area where police were able to coordinate an apprehension safely and effectively. The stolen vehicle was recovered, and the suspects were arrested for outstanding warrants and auto theft.
