High Speed Chase Suspect Gunned Down In Orange Pursuit
ORANGE, CA – All lanes of the I-805 southbound were shut down Sunday morning after it became the deadly end point of a dramatic pursuit as a suspect led officers from Orange to San Diego Counties Saturday night. The suspect died in a hospital after officers opened fire on the freeway in Chula Vista during a standoff.
A news video appeared to depict at least 10 gunshots fired during the standoff. A police dog also appeared to be part of the investigation. CHP and San Diego police vehicles could be seen stopped behind the car with some officers drawing their guns.
The incident began just before midnight when Santa Ana police attempted to pull the suspect over because of a traffic violation, and ended in Chula Vista, according to CHP spokesman Salvador Castro.
