Dashcam shows SC gun battle that wounded trooper, suspect

COLUMBIA, SC – Dashcam footage of a gunfire exchange between a trooper and a suspect last month has been released.
According to Fox 57, Trooper Paul Wise attempted to stop 27-year-old Willie Bernard Wright on June 2 for a safety belt violation. Wright fled and a pursuit ensued.
When the pursuit stopped at a dead end, Wright got out of his vehicle and opened fire at Wise, who returned fire as Wright attempted to flee the scene.
