Minn. officers fatally shoot motorcyclist after pursuit

HERMANTOWN, Minn. — The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office on Sunday night identified a man who was shot dead by authorities Saturday afternoon in Hermantown.
Timothy Russell Majchrzak, 37, of Hermantown, died of multiple gunshot wounds, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety said in a statement.
According to a Saturday news release from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, two Hermantown police officers and a St. Louis County sheriff’s deputy pursued a motorcyclist through Hermantown Saturday at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour before calling off their pursuit.
