CHP officer killed in Lake Elsinore crash; Winchester driver arrested on suspicion of murder

A veteran California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was killed Saturday in a crash on the 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore and the driver was arrested on suspicion of murder and other charges.
The officer was identified by the CHP as Sgt. Steve Licon, who had been with the agency for 27 years.
Arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder in Licon’s death was Michael Callahan, 36, of Winchester, according to Riverside County Jail information logs.
