Lawrence Township police are the first state or municipal police officers in Clearfield County to wear body cameras, announced Chief Douglas Clark at last night’s meeting of the Lawrence Township Board of Supervisors.

The next closest police officers to have body cameras are in the State College area, Clark said.

The township recently received two new body cameras and they went into service on Thursday. Clark said they hope to purchase two more body cameras in the near future. The body cameras will be shared among the police department with the officers getting the cameras as they go on shift, and they will pass them off when they end their shift, Clark said.
