PORTLAND, Oregon — A Clark County Sheriff deputy responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle early Monday morning was struck and injured and the driver led officials on a high-speed chase before ultimately escaping.
According to Clark County Sheriff’s officials, the deputy pulled in front of a sedan parked on the shoulder of Northeast 75th Street near the intersection of 104th Avenue at about 3 a.m. after reports of a suspicious car in the neighborhood.
The deputy spotted two women standing next to the car, according to a statement. As he exited the car the women got back in and “accelerated at the deputy.”
