Texas Sheriff’s Deputy Survives Fiery Crash During Pursuit

SHIRO, Texas — A Grimes County Sheriff’s deputy was fortunate to survive a fiery crash during a pursuit Monday night.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in 7500 Block of CR. 232 within the Shiro Community on Jan. 28 at 6:45 p.m. in regards to an individual who had began making threats towards his estranged before leaving the the residence on a Yamaha Motorcycle, according to a news release.
While enroute, Deputy Reed Edelman spotted the motorcycle on State Highway 30 near Tenaska west of Shiro and proceeded to turn around to purse the motorcycle, at that time the driver of the motorcycle proceeded to accelerate away from him rapidly.
