Still mourning officer’s death, Charlestown says goodbye to police K-9

CHARLESTOWN, Ind. (WTHR) – A southern Indianapolis city already mourning the loss of a police officer is now saying goodbye to one of their police dogs.

The Charlestown City Police Department posted to Facebook Tuesday that retired K-9 Maja passed away Monday at the age of 12.

“Rest In Peace Maja, thanks for fighting crime with us; and especially for all the drugs you helped get off the streets of Southern Indiana,” the department wrote.
