Human smuggling suspect ID’d after police chase in south Laredo

The suspected human smuggler who led state police and federal agents on a chase throughout south Laredo has been identified.

The Texas Department of Public Safety identified him as Oscar Roberto Reyna, 25. He was arrested and charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, fleeing on foot, human smuggling and reckless driving.

DPS said Reyna was transporting 10 immigrants who had entered the country illegally. U.S. Border Patrol agents took custody of the group.
