Ballistic vest may have saved Texas K-9’s life in shooting, police say

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – A ballistic vest worn by a K-9 may have saved his life when he was shot Monday night during a shooting involving a police officer, authorities said.
Koba, a two-year veteran of the department, underwent surgery and was recovering Tuesday, police said.
Koba’s handler and Police Chief Jimmy Perdue were with him at a local veterinary clinic.
