Services held for fallen NPD Corporal Ronil Singh

Newman Police Department Corporal Ronil Singh was remembered Saturday as a beacon of light who was relentless in his devotion to family, dedication to service and pursuit of good in a world torn by evil.
Thousands of mourners overflowed the 5,000-seat CrossPoint Community Church in downtown Modesto for a memorial service honoring Singh, who was shot and killed in a Dec. 26 traffic stop in Newman.
While those in attendance included family, friends, fellow Newman officers and city employees from across all departments, the vast majority of mourners were law enforcement officials from across the state, the nation and the world who converged on Modesto to pay their respects.
