State police: ‘Road rage’ shooting leads to police pursuit on I-264, before suspect car crashes into Chesapeake canal

A shooting on Interstate 264 that stemmed from a road rage incident led to a police pursuit, ending in a crash Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say the altercation stemmed over a road rage incident in which the driver of the Acura, who State Police identified as 25-year-old Jermaine Lamar Cameron, shot at the Honda several times.

After a vehicle description was broadcasted, troopers found the suspect vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop on I-464 at Freeman Avenue in Chesapeake. State Police say Cameron refused to stop, leading to a chase.
