Chase from Gastonia ends in crash on I-85 in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A chase that started following a reported shooting in Gastonia ended in a crash on an interstate in Charlotte Monday evening.
Gastonia police say the incident began around 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle was shot into on Armstrong Park near the intersection with E. Hudson Boulevard.
Following the shooting, officials say a 22-year-old Gastonia man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say officers were then notified of a pursuit by Gastonia Police into Mecklenburg County at 6:11 p.m.
