BROCKTON – A police car chase ended quickly early Sunday morning in Brockton after a Boston man struck a highway median with his car, blowing out a tire, according to a police spokesperson.

Brockton police said they were “monitoring a high crime area known for illegal drug sales,” when they tried to pull over a white Kia sedan that was “operating suspiciously” around 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn on Westgate Drive.

“The operator entered and exited the lot repeatedly and circled the undercover police vehicle, in what investigators believe was an attempt to identify if law enforcement occupied the car,” said Brockton police spokesperson Darren Duarte. “When police activated their emergency lights and siren, the driver of the Kia fled instead of pulling over.”
