Police chase kills mother, critically injures officer in Mississippi; Officer identified

A family is demanding answers as authorities in a north Mississippi town investigate a police chase that ended in the death of a mother of four and the officer in critical condition.
The crash happened Monday around 8 p.m. on Mississippi 315 in Sardis, WREG-TV reported.
The Panola County Sheriff’s Department says 32-year-old Ericka Hughes was turning into a fast-food restaurant when she was struck head-on by a Sardis police car. Hughes died at the scene.
