Title: STARCHASE PRESENTS AT GHSA ANNUAL CONVENTION

Aug. 30 -Sept. 2, 2009 as part of the GHSA’s Toward Zero Death, Every Life Counts 10-point plan for reauthorizing the Federal Highway Safety Program.
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Oct. 4, 2009 – StarChase LLC was asked to speak at the Governors Highway Safety Association’s (GHSA) Annual Convention in Savannah, Ga. Aug. 30 -Sept. 2, 2009 as part of the GHSA’s Toward Zero Death, Every Life Counts 10-point plan for reauthorizing the Federal Highway Safety Program.
Mandy McCall, COO for StarChase, participated in the New and Cool Highway Safety Technologies workshop, which examined new traffic safety technologies to aid in the reduction of motor vehicle crashes on roadways.
The StarChase Pursuit Management System is a real-time tagging and tracking tool used to reduce dangerous high-speed pursuits. A compressed-air launcher mounted in the grille of a police vehicle deploys a GPS projectile/tag that adheres to the suspect vehicle. The tag contains a miniature GPS module, which continually transmits its position coordinates via wireless modem, enabling dispatchers to track the vehicle’s location and movements. Once the suspect vehicle is tagged, dispatch coordinates its resources to create a safe interdiction strategy or perform surveillance on the suspect.
“It was an honor to present our case studies on how the StarChase Pursuit Management System reduces dangers associated with high-speed chases,” said McCall. “In conjunction with this year’s platform, StarChase is a very relevant and useful tool to reduce casualties on the road.”
McCall relayed recent data on the use of the Pursuit Management System in the field and how the system led to several stolen vehicle recoveries and arrests, all without giving chase.
